Background
Muay Lopburi became known for the film “Ong Bak” and is strongly oriented towards the Rammakian Saga in naming its techniques. The Rammakiern is a stage play that was again translated into the Thai language under the reign of King Rama II (1809-1824) and widely distributed.
As a result, many of Muay Lopburi’s so-called “ancient techniques” can not be older than 200 years. Apart from the show-fighting-oriented techniques, Muay Lopburi is a regular Muay Thai.
Like Krabi Krabong, Muay Lopburi has never been deployed in a warlike conflict.
