What is knee?

Knee is one of four bodily weapons of Pahuyuth.

Background

Knees are the jointed connection between the thigh bone (femur), shin (tibia) and kneecap (patella).

Knees can be used for attack and defense. The stability of knee techniques is based on the principles of counter-traction, counter-rotation and balance. The ability to apply these principles determines the effect.

As a close-combat weapon, knee variants are divided according to their direction when connecting to the target

  • Ascending Knee (knee hits in upward movement),
  • Parallel Knee (knee connects as it moves parallel to the ground)
  • Descending Knee (knee connects in downward movement).

The amount of possible knee techniques in Pahuyuth is infinite. As part of the Pahuyuth training, knee techniques are taught as basic techniques, variants, combinations and applications and are individually refined.
