What is a combination of techniques (Mai Gon)?
A combination of techniques (Mai Gon) is a functional sequence of multiple techniques and their permutations. This term is also used to describe autodynamic reaction sequences, which result in a semi-conscious combination of several individual techniques in the sense of the model of autodynamics.

Background
Combinations can be formed from pre-teaching techniques, basic techniques and variants. The amount of possible combinations of techniques strives against infinity in all Pahuyuth disciplines. A special form of Mai Gon techniques, which are no longer in use, were the so-called Muai trick techniques (Gon Muai).
Mai Gon in other fighting styles
In contrast to the original understanding of the Pahuyuth about the conceptual structure and the mediation of combat techniques, often arbitrarily selected combinations of techniques (Mai Gon) are classified as basic techniques (Mae Mai) or variants (Look Mai) in Muay Thai or Muay Boran. The lack of a logical derivation and justification for this classification can be seen as an indication of a lack of expertise in the reconstruction of traditional fighting styles.
