The term Tutorship refers to the activity of a Pahuyuth as a primary knowledge facilitator, companion and guide for an examinee during the examination phase.

The concept of tutorship is based on the principles of collegial assistance and learning through teaching. A tutor is either selected by the examinee (the student chooses his teacher), recommended by the teaching institute according to pedagogical aspects, or the tutor applies to the teaching institute for the assignment of an examinee.

Taking on tutorships for students is part of the Pahuyuth mediation concept. Taking on a tutorship for a probationary student (yellow belt to green belt) is considered a particularly honorable and instructive task within the Pahuyuth community.
