What is a sword face?

The sword face (weakness) is the front third of a Thai sword (Daab) or the front half of the blade, measured from the tip of the sword.

Background

The sword face is mainly used for attack. It is suitable for chopping, cutting or tearing. Practitioners tend to avoid aggressively hitting blades to prevent wear. For parrying the sword catch or the sword’s backs is preferably used.
