Hand Guard
A Hand Guard is a hand protection for bladed weapons, which sits between the handle and the blade. With Thai sword (Daab) the guard is either kept very small (usually a small disc) or is completely missing. Actual hand protection is not provided for this type of sword, as it would interfere with the sword’s handling. Unlike other sword fighting styles, between a DAAB swordsman and the blade of his opponent lies solely the fighting ability and skill of the one who wields the sword.
