What is a pre-teaching technique (Tah Pratom)?

A pre-teaching technique (Tah Pratom) is a technique that is used to shape reaction patterns for the use of one’s own body or for the primary combat elements in the respective discipline.

Background

The pre-teaching techniques are for example basic stance, combat positions, the operational radii and the movement in space. In the discipline MUAI, specific defensive techniques are also taught. The LING LOM places an additional emphasis on safety knowledge.

In the weapon disciplines (MEED, MAI SAWK, DAAB , GRABONG, SABAI) the pre-teaching techniques consist in particular of handling techniques for non-bodily weapons.
