What is a placeholder technique?

In Pahuyuth, a placeholder technique technique is a technique included in the curriculum that serves as an example for one or more underlying principles or concepts.

Occurrence of placeholder techniques

Pre-teaching technique as well as basic techniques and technical variants can be placeholder techniques.

Example

A typical example of a placeholder technique is LS-01-03, the Teacher Greeting. This does not seem to have any particular combat relevance, but it contains a number of important principles of action that become apparent during the Pahuyuth training.

We have summarized further details about this technique in a separate blog post.
