What is an Ort?

The Ort (German term for “place”) or tip of the sword is the tip of a bladed weapon or the tip of a sword blade.

Background

With Thai swords (DAAB ) stabs with the tip of the sword are rather unusual because of the curvature of most swords and the often wide-forged blade tip. Instead, it is to stab with the end of the handle (knob, pommel).
