What is Muay Kaad Chuek?

Muay Kaad Chuek (also known as Muay Kard Chuek or Muay Kard Chiek) is the name given to Muay Thai competitions in which hemp rope bandages are used instead of boxing gloves.

Background

“Kaad” means “wrap” and “Chuek” means hemp rope.

Muay Kaad Chuek fighting has often taken place on the border with Myanmar in the past. This led to the development of the Lethwei.
