Who was Kunying Jann?

Kunying Jann was a Free-Warrioress from the southern region of Thailand around 1785.

Background

As the leader, Kunying Jann defended the small island town, today’s Phuket (Talang) from the invasion of the Burmese. A monument in Phuket Talang was dedicated to her.
