What is a grappling technique?

In pahuyuth, a grappling technique is a manipulation of the opposing body, which, using the lever laws, causes the opponent or an opponent’s body part to be fixated.

Background

Grappling techniques are a subcategory of so-called grip techniques, which in turn belong to the system weapons.

Grappling techniques are hardly used in the Pahuyuth because they require constant control of the opponent. Binding resources to a single enemy can be a major drawback in multi-opponent situations. As part of the training (see LING LOM), grappling techniques are therefore mainly learned in order to be able to free oneself from them.
