What is a Dab Ayutthaya?

Daab Ayutthaya (sword from Ayutthaya) is a sword type native to the area of the former capital of the Siam kingdom.

Background

Like the vast majority of Thai swords, the Daab Ayutthaya consists of a long handle that makes up about a third of the sword length and a one-sided cut blade, which is two-thirds of the total length. Typical for the Daab Ayutthaya is the rather curved shape and the wide sword face. Together with the Daab Lanna (sword from Lanna), the Daab Ayutthaya is the most widely used design for Thai swords.
